Abstract

Disaster management needs to be explored in its effecting factors and developmental steps, and to be integrated through multidisciplinary approaches.
This study was done to develop a curriculum on bachelor of science conversion progam in disaster management for graduates of disaster related diploma programs. For the study, the data were collected through reviewing the literature and participating a couple or more disaster training programs, and being consulted by experts in disaster area.
As a result, the BS-Conversion Model Major in Disaster Management was explored ,vhich is distinguished by its integrated management course to the basic management courses which are pre-requisites. A curriculum based on the model was developed with educational purpose and objectives, and suggested 27 subjects(72 credits) with their course outlines, 51 of core and 21 of elective units during 4 semesters.
After finishing the course, graduates will be able to be a manager, leader, educator in disaster areas.
Suggestions are as follows.
1) The legal preparations and considerations in the license and qualification of disaster managerial jobs should be given.
¢¥) Further study for the regular BS program development needs to be done.
