This study is aimed at identifying the health problem and health condition of nursing students, accordingly gathering basic data necessary for health promotion and prevention against diseases by means of "Todai Health Index".
The data was given an answer by the day class and the evening class students, the second-year and the third-year, totalling 278 who experienced clinical demonstration, in "R" nursing college located in Seoul from Nov. 19 to Nov. 30 1992.
The data was analyzed by SPSS Percentage, Average value, Standard deviation, ANOVA, Pearson¡¯s correlationships.
The results are as follows: 1. The general degree of health condition was the level of 41.9¡¾10.1, which was normal condition and indicated somewhat ¡¯healthy¡¯ status. The physical item scored 34.7, while mental item marked 46.9, irregural life rhythm item 48.0, which marked the highest level of apeal among them.
2. When it came to the degree of appeal to the health problem by each variable, the second-year students showed a little bit higher score, marking 42.7, than that of the third-year ones. 41.2, in the degree of appeal to the health problem by
school year. The day class student showed a little higher score, marking 35.2, 47.4, about the physical item, the mental item respectively than that of the evening class students, 34.2, 46.1, in the catagories of the degree of appeal to the health problem, whereas, the evening class students showed a little higher score, 48.4, about irregular life rhythm item than that of the day class ones, 47.7. As the Peason¡¯s correlationships, -0.07, showed reversed correlation, the appeal to the health problem decreased with growing age. Even though conspicuous relation wasn¡¯t found in terms of subjective economic level, it was observed that subjective economic level had relation to physical and mental health. It showed that the group getting good records in its studies controlled its health condition well in terms of the appeal to health by school records.
