Abstract

The purpose of this study were 1) to analyze curricula of health related educational institutions by Lee's (1990) 11 health problems for primary and junior high school health education 2) to provide direction on which to base further study for
cultivating practical manpower for school health education.
@ES The results of the study were as follows:
@EN 1. Only three health related courses as a baccalaurate program from each university in Korea are likely to manage their curricula involved health problems.
2. The curriculum of school of nursing, baccalaurate program is more likely to satisfy the need of health problems by means of the holistic approaching method. However, it is lack of the area of consumers' health and environmental area, and does
not
involve education related requirements to be a teacher in spite of being qualifyed as a school nurse without qualifying examination after aquiring license of registered nurse.
3. The curricula of health related courses do not involve mental health, drugs, prevention of disease, personal hygine areas at all, education related requirments, either..
4. Junior college of nursing has similar contents of curriculum to school of nursing exept imvolving education related requirements to be a school nurse.
Considering that we don't have school health educator course in any college or university in Korea, on the bases of these findings, the following recommendatins were made:
1. It must be involved education related requirements for teaching to be school health educator in related curricula.
2. It should cover the whole areas of health problems to practice health education.
3. To be more practical and helpful, clinical and field practicum should be involved in current curricula.
